Description
Russula versicolor Jul. Schäff.  Image location: Larkspur, California, USA  *Smallish tacky caps up to 4.3 cm across with readily peelable cuticles.  *Pale yellow to yellow spore print with spores ~ 6.1-7.1 X 5.8-6.1 microns, moderately warty and little or no reticulations. Appeared to have an oil droplet.  *Taste seemed mild.  *Growing under planted Birch. *syn: Russula densifolia ? Used references: Reliable amateur mycologists.  MushroomObserverMoreInfo|76832
