SUMMARY
Pileus - 62-75mm, initially subspherical, becoming convex with a slight central depression, smooth, pale, glaucous-livid green cast, no apparant red tones at margin. Flesh yellowing in places beneath cap where eaten by insects. Margin sulcate with low warts. Peeling 1/3.
Stipe - 47x 19mm, cylindrical, white, yellowing strongly from the base up. Longitudinally, innately striate, shown up through yellowing. Brittle, hollow.
Gills - Adnexed, medium spaced, broad, brittle, edges and in spots on the gill face, staining ochre-brown. Edges darkening, rather fimbriate, smooth. Dark cream to pale ochre in maturity.
Flesh-Yellowing in places, stem surface yellowing strongly. Taste mild, odour very slightly fruity.
Chemical reaction - FeSo2 - dull pink
Spores - ellipsoid, 5.1- 6.2 x 5.7-7.9, with connectives though forming incomplete reticulum. Smaller spore size helps distinguish from R. puellaris. Spore Print Ochre - (G-H in chart)
Dermatocystidia - cylindrical, 2-3 septate, numerous.
Notes-This is a highly variable taxon with regard to colour, this collection represented a paler rather non-descript form. It can also appear with dominant red tones or with a mix of these colours .
